Innovative lens fabrication techniques in the lab

I’ve been exploring new lens fabrication techniques that improve both precision and efficiency. Recently, I integrated a digital surfacing system that has significantly reduced our production time while maintaining strict adherence to quality control standards. I’m curious to know what methods others are using and how they impact workflow in your labs.

That’s great to hear; i recently started using 3D printing for prototyping, and it’s been a game-changer. What specific digital surfacing features have you found most beneficial?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

But i’ve found integrating auto-calibration features in my digital surfacing system really cuts down on setup time; it’s not foolproof, but it definitely enhances workflow when you’re tight on time… @nmeadows45, have you tried anything similar for your 3D printing?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

I’ve also noticed that optimizing our lens design software helped streamline workflows. The integration of CAD tools can really enhance precision too. Have you tried any specific design platforms?
