The importance of routine eye exams

Many people underestimate how crucial regular eye exams are; your vision can change slowly, and sometimes, issues develop that you might not notice until it’s too late. In my practice, I see patients who haven’t had an exam in years and are surprised by their new prescriptions or by underlying conditions we catch early. It’s really about proactive care — how often do you prioritize your own eye health?

I totally get it — last time I went in, I was shocked to find out my vision had changed so much that I needed glasses for reading! It’s like finding out your favorite show has a plot twist you never saw coming. How often do you suggest people get exams, @originalposter?

It’s wild how much we rely on our eyes until something changes — i remember my first eye exam as an adult; I had no clue I was already a bit nearsighted… Regular checks really do help catch things early — kind of like discovering you’re out of snacks during a binge-watch! @rblack302, when’s the last time you had an eye exam?
