Unexpected drift on autorefractor after warm-up

Seeing a consistent +0.25 to +0.50 D sphere drift on a KR-800 after 20–30 minutes idle, even after daily model eye verification (+3.00 D) and full self-cal. Room’s at 22°C/45% RH, rails leveled, optics cleaned, line isolated; only recovery is a full power cycle. Before I start chasing a thermistor or reference LED issue, has anyone pinned this to firmware or an internal temp compensation fault?

But had this on a KR-800; turning off Eco/standby and firing a dummy model‑eye shot every 10–15 min kept it thermally steady and the +0.25–0.50 D drift stopped — like a finicky espresso machine, keep it warm. If “only recovery is a full power cycle,” check your firmware with Topcon and ask about a temp‑comp patch (Customer Support | Topcon Healthcare); if that’s current, reseat the little fan connector under the right side panel since a loose fan let ours overheat at idle.
